Our COVID-19 Response

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Indian Red Cross Society Kaliganj Block Branch stepped up to provide critical support to our community. From March 2020 to November 2021, we conducted 15 major programs to ensure the safety and well-being of the people in our region.

Our dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly through lockdowns, managing quarantine centers, organizing blood donation camps, providing oxygen support, and facilitating vaccination programs to help our community navigate through these challenging times.

Our comprehensive response to the pandemic

Blood Donation Camps

Organized multiple blood donation camps during the pandemic, even during "Janata Curfew" to ensure blood supply.

Sanitization Program

Comprehensive sanitization of markets, government offices, hospitals, and residences of COVID patients.

Quarantine Center Management

Managed Panighata Quarantine Center and COVID testing center sanitization for 3 months.

  • Full management of quarantine center
  • Sanitization of testing centers
  • 3 months continuous service

Oxygen Parlor

Established oxygen parlor with concentrators and cylinders during the critical oxygen shortage period.

  • 2 Oxygen Concentrators
  • 2 Handy Oxygen Cylinders
  • 2 months continuous operation

Vaccination Program Support

Facilitated vaccination programs at BDO office, Red Cross Bhavan, and Rural Hospital.

  • Debagram BDO office support
  • Red Cross Bhavan vaccination
  • Ongoing vaccination assistance

Medical Programs

Organized specialized medical camps including thalassemia detection and free health check-ups.

  • Thalassemia detection camp

Blood Donation Camp - Janata Curfew

Organized blood donation camp at Bhaga Primary School during "Janata Curfew" with 74 blood donors participating.

Served dry and nutritious foods to expectant mothers of distressed families during the lockdown period.

Sanitization Program Launch

Inaugurated comprehensive sanitization program covering Kaliganj Market, Ration Shop, Police Station, Hospital, and government offices.

Took charge of Panighata Quarantine Center and COVID testing center (Pather Sathi) sanitization for 3 months.

Conducted thalassemia detection camp at Bethuadahari College for community health screening.

Managed Bio Medical Waste during Bidhansava Election across 15 Gram Panchayats of Kaliganj Block.

Oxygen Parlor Establishment

Started oxygen parlor with 2 Oxygen Concentrators and 2 Handy Oxygen Cylinders, operated for 2 months.

03/11/2021

Free Medical Check-up Program

Organized comprehensive medical check-up at Kaliganj Satyacharan Girls High School with Nivedita Nursing Home, serving 170 people with Blood Sugar and Echocardiography tests.
